The garden at Chapel Farmhouse in Tilmanstone, Kent will be open for the National Garden Scheme for the second year running between 12pm - 6pm this Saturday 12th & Sunday 13th July. This delightful garden sits on three sides of a Georgian farmhouse and is packed full of beautiful wildlife friendly plants and interesting features.
The garden, now in its third year, features a formal courtyard to the front of the house framed by pleached trees. The courtyard is planted in a romantic cottage garden style and features some beautiful roses that will be in full bloom. There is also a Japanese style water garden featuring a Yatsuhashi zig-zag bridge and water bowl fountain. Generous herbaceous borders frame the gravel pathways and lawn to the back of the house. These lead to either a small orchard surrounded by wildflower meadow or formal brick path vegetable garden with raised beds and lean-to greenhouse. The garden features iron work by local blacksmith Joel Tarr.
Do take the chance to visit this beautiful garden that really shows just how much you can pack into a relatively small space with great design and a bold vision.
