Planting Plans for Existing Borders

Kristina can also design individual planting plans to:

Revamp an existing planting scheme
Design a new bed or border from scratch

Kristina can provide quotations to supply the plants and arrange their delivery. She can prepare planting beds as necessary, set-out the plants on site and plant them.

An annual maintenance schedule for the plants in your scheme can be provided if required.

Kristina can also offer annual (or more regular) visits to monitor the garden’s progress and maintain the integrity of the design over time.

Planting Plan fees are variable depending on the size of the planting bed(s), the location of the garden and the level of service required.

Advice for Existing Gardens

Kristina can provide consultation on an existing garden. This will involve a site visit, charged at a half or full day rate as appropriate. Kristina can advise on:

Maintenance requirements
Improvements to existing planting
Possible ways to revamp existing hard landscaping
Minor garden layout improvements if appropriate

All advice given at these on-site consultations will be verbal with a brief follow-up email detailing important points as agreed at the meeting. More detailed written information, instructions or plans (hand-drawn or CAD) will incur a further fee to be agreed in advance.

Garden History Services

Kristina is a qualified garden historian (MA Garden History – Distinction, Birkbeck - University of London, 2007) and can:

Undertake research into a house & garden’s history
Give background information on a historic garden style or designer
Provide garden design ‘recreations’ of a particular era
Undertake garden restoration of a historic scheme

Research time will usually be charged at half or full day rates, with additional expense charges for items such as document reproduction, travel & archive fees. The final report will also be charged on a time basis, as it dependent on the quantity & complexity of the research material uncovered.
