Garden to Frame a View

Garden Design,
Kent

Located near Tunbridge Wells, this Speldhurst garden had a complex brief: screening a telegraph pole from view, incorporating the existing unsightly leylandii tree screen directly in front of it, providing screening from the public footpath across the field whilst keeping the view of the field and countryside open. Sound impossible?

The new scheme includes a screen of medium to tall open and feathery growing perennials and grasses which will gain height over the season and provide a gauzy veil which will allow you to see out of the garden, but will provide cover for those sitting in the garden. These plants include Selinum wallichianum, Calamagrostis x acutiflora 'Karl Foerster, Foeniculum vulgare 'Purpureum' &  Althea cannabina. Also several strategically placed trees frame the view you want and mask the bits you don't.

Looking forward to seeing this develop over the coming season and seeing the planting vision become a reality. Pot fountain water feature still to be installed in the centre circle with pebbles at the base, bark mulch to go on all the borders in the new year, and turf to go down around the beds in the front garden in spring 2020.

There is a phase 2 woodland pathway & planting planned for the south side of the garden which can be seen on the Master Plan in the slide show.
