Urban Courtyard Garden

This compact city courtyard was redesigned to resolve awkward level changes. The new layout features a raised deck with a pergola for privacy, built-in seating (one with storage), and a water-blade feature with a tiled splashback. Raised beds with stone-capped white rendered walls line the garden, softening existing structures with plants.

A slightly raised deck leads from the house to paved areas, with a built-in seat providing storage and dining space. A slatted trellis atop the brick wall adds privacy.

 

Down the side alley, an Ipe hardwood deck connects to the lounge, with boxed-in storage beneath accessed via a cupboard door.
