Coastal Wildlife Garden
Full garden redesign to support wildlife and maintain compliance with complex planning restrictions.

A full redesign of the front and rear gardens for a new eco house in Winchelsea Beach, developed to meet planning requirements for bat habitat conservation.

The front features a drought-tolerant gravel garden with a coastal theme and pollinator-friendly planting. In the rear, moisture-retentive clay soil supports species such as Angelica archangelica and Eupatorium, alongside an orchard, wildflower meadow, and productive area with raised beds and a greenhouse.

Locally sourced and reclaimed materials were used throughout. A rainwater harvesting system serves all buildings, and the design has successfully supported local bat populations.

This garden has won several awards and has been featured in the 'Garden Design Journal' June 2023 edition (cover image), Country Living Magazine June 2023 edition, 'Pro Landscaper Magazine' September 2022 edition and the 'Garden Design Journal' November 2018 edition.
